How to Extend the Life of Your Cordless Tool Batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are consumables, but with the right care you can double their useful life. Here's how.

1. Store at ~50% Charge

Never store batteries fully drained or fully charged for long periods. 40-60% is ideal.

2. Avoid Extreme Heat

Never leave batteries in a hot truck bed. Heat is the #1 killer of lithium cells.

3. Use the Manufacturer Charger

Off-brand chargers often overcharge. Stick with Milwaukee/DeWalt/Makita OEM.

4. Rotate Your Packs

If you have multiple batteries, rotate through them instead of using one until death.
